Local Information

King Line Cottages can be found in the small village of Horning. Situated between the city of Norwich and the Norfolk Coast. Horning has three pubs, an excellent restaurant (see recommended restaurants and pubs), various small shops including a local newsagents and general store. The nearest supermarket can be found 3 miles away in Hoveton. In addition there is a small leisure club with swimming pool, spa, sauna and gym located opposite the cottages.

The Norfolk Broads are England's largest stretch of wetlands, and are a unique combination of broads or shallow lakes, rivers and dykes which can be found in the area bounded by Norwich,, Stalham, Lowestoft and Beccles. Famous for the magnificent boating they afford, with over 125 miles of navigable waterways they also play host to a wide variety of plants, animals, insects and birds.   • Horning/Hoveton Bewilderwood A huge forest of wild family fun and outdoor adventure, with treehouses, zip wires, jungle bridges and much more.
  • Coltishall – Antique and craft shops.
  • Wroxham - The heart of Broadland, facilities for all the family including Roys of Wroxham "the largest village store in the world". Leisure centre with pool at Moores "Peninsula".

  • Salhouse Broad Norfolk Naturalist Trust reserve.
  • Cockshoot Broad Near Woodbastwick, a walk takes you through to the clear water broad as it was 100 years ago.
  • Ranworth Broadland Conservation Centre on the edge of Ranworth Broad with floating exhibition building and viewing gallery.Ranworth Church - cathedral of the Broads with superb views from the tower.

Local Cycle Hire Points/ Canoe Hire.

  • Hunters Spa, opposite the cottages hires cycles for either 2 hours, half day, full day or by the week.
